Amazon.nl has officially opened Bleckmann's fulfillment centre, where Bleckmann will also take care of the operational activities. Bleckmann's warehouse is located at the XL Business Park Twente and has a favourable geographical location close to the German border. As a result, it seamlessly connects to Amazon.nl's international logistics network. The actual start of the work was on 7 August 2023.
Bleckmann and Amazon.nl have signed a multi-year lease. The warehouse enables Amazon.nl to add new valued Dutch and international brands to their range. Chief Business Development Officer of Bleckmann, Jurrie-Jan Tap then says: “In total up to 25,000 packages can be processed every day for Amazon.nl. In the long term, the warehouse will provide employment for nearly 170 employees.”
Amazon in the Netherlands
Amazon has about 1,250 employees in the Netherlands and is located with its head office in Amsterdam, a sorting centre in Rozenburg (DNL1) and the new fulfillment centre in Almelo. Amazon's logistics fleet in the Netherlands currently consists of more than 260 vans, including approximately 40 electric vans. More than 600 million products are now available via Amazon.nl and customers with Amazon Prime membership benefit from free delivery, unlimited Prime Video streaming, access to games with Prime Gaming and unlimited storage with Amazon Photos. The range is constantly being expanded and millions of products are ordered before 12:00, delivered the same day. Ordered today, delivered the next day for even more products.
